The HIRE Center was conceived out of a need for more timely and pragmatic analysis policy-relevant research that could be applied in local and academic communities. As we focused our program and project emphasis, we built expertise in three program areas—Labor and Public Policy, Education, and CBE Institutional Research.
Within each of the program areas, HIRE Center personnel actively work with community partners to
develop programs and projects through both external funding and academic pursuits. We believe it is the nexus generated by funders' quest for practical solutions to building human and community capacities and academicians’ quest for expanding knowledge that generates effective policies and programs to increase individual and community economic capacities.
Our accomplishments are well-received and noteworthy in each program area. We contribute to the public discussion and inquiry, offering information to program administrators, policy makers, academicians, and the community at large to effect a more productive, cohesive and benevolent societal landscape. We are proud of our accomplishments in each program area and
our work in the community. Each year we
continue to expand and broaden our work in each.
