Education

Since its founding in 1994, the HIRE Center has maintained a major program focus in education research. We see educational institutions not as isolated academies but as integral components of their surrounding communities. We have a national reputation in evaluating educational programs, in designing and administering surveys to help institutions engage in continuous quality improvement of their curriculum, in developing engaging social science curriculum for high school students, and in professional development of high school social science teachers.

The HIRE Center’s commitment in Education emphasizes three distinct areas:

  • Program and Curriculum Evaluation, which involves data collection and analysis to help educators and policymakers better understand the strengths and limitations of educational programs.
  • Curriculum Development, which develops innovative educational practices in collaboration with teachers and refines these practices in classrooms.
  • Professional Development , which helps educators refine and improve their classes, provides training in new pedagogies and subject areas, and reinforces content knowledge and teaching methodologies already in place.
