HIRE Center personnel provide a wide variety of both qualitative and quantitative data analytic services. Personnel are adept at analyzing data from large longitudinal data sets (e.g., National Longitudinal Surveys, High School and Beyond, National Education Longitudinal Study), large cross sectional databases (e.g., U.S. Census, County Business Patterns, National Health Surveys), and smaller data sets constructed from researcher-initiated surveys. Skills encompass a wide range of univariate, bivariate, and multivariate techniques, including standard procedures (e.g., ordinary least squares regression, factor and discriminate analysis, contingency table analysis) and more sophisticated procedures (e.g., two-stage least squares, sample selection analysis, fixed-effect estimation).
