HIRE Center projects are staffed with multidisciplinary teams representing
different academic disciplines and diverse research and ideological
perspectives, a true reflection of the university environment. Since HIRE’s
Center founding in 1994, it has maintained a relatively small core staff and
drawn from the wide-ranging expertise of faculty throughout the university to
meet specific project needs. By combining the talents of a core research and
program staff, faculty research associates, student assistants, and university
faculty and staff, HIRE Center can meet fluctuating research needs in a wide
variety of areas.

While HIRE Center projects draw from the expertise of faculty and staff
throughout the university, some faculty have provided leadership in HIRE Center
through fundraising, organizational development, or project development. Their
close affiliation with the HIRE Center helps expand the range of our in-house
expertise.

The HIRE Center affords students with the opportunity
to gain research skills in on-campus employment by hiring
Student Research Assistants. Research Assistants are an essential
part of the HIRE Center team. They are responsible for the nuts
and bolts of daily research activities and, as a result, are the
backbone of the HIRE Center projects. Because the terms of
employment are dictated by a student status, our Research
Assistants typically leave when they graduate. A few student
assistants have moved into permanent HIRE Center staff positions.

Over the years, HIRE Center has faced its share of growth spurts, successes,
trials and tribulations. As with most entrepreneurial endeavors, its success
reflects not only the efforts of current staff but also those of past employees
whose dedication and hard work often helped define HIRE’s Center standards of
excellence. To remind us that HIRE Center stands by the well-worn phrase "We
deliver a quality product, on time, and within budget." we retain the spirit of
outstanding past employees through our "Hall of Fame".
